Apartment Search

Although there are tons of places to live in Sydney, the housing market is extremely competitive. Unlike afternoon-long open houses in the States, open houses ("inspections") here last for 15 minutes and are only held on Wednesdays and Saturdays. They are packed full of people and you must be ready to apply for the apartment on the spot. Rent is done weekly here, instead of monthly. A 1 bedroom apartment rents for anything from $400-$900 a week. A tad pricey eh??

Our apartment requirements:
*1 bedroom, 1 bath
* close to public transportation (train, bus, ferry)
*near the water (harbour or beach)
*green space nearby for Rudy
*air conditioning
*internal laundry
*pet-friendly apartments are not widely advertised here.. So we are going to keep mr Rudy on the down-low for the moment...

Here is where we live currently (in Chatswood). I'm at the blue dot waiting for a job interview.

Here is where John works in Frenchs Forest

We want to stay in Northern Sydney (north of the bridge) and really like Manly

Or some of the suburbs (neighborhoods) on the north shore--Kirribilli, McMahons Point, North Sydney, Milsons Point, Waverton

Can't wait to find the perfect apartment!
