With a new job comes new coworkers...Australian coworkers with a whole new view on America/Americans....a reminder that we are literally living on the other side of the planet.

Coworker #1- "I went to this one place when I was visiting the US...it was really naughty but so good...I think it was called Hardee's?"

Coworker #2- "When I imagine good ole American cuisine, I imagine Denny's"

Coworker #3- "I can't believe you Americans love peanut butter and jelly sandwiches! Gross! Peanut butter by itself is ok..but with jelly?? Why???"

Coworker #4- "What is it with Americans and crisps (chips)? What's so good about them and why do they always eat them with sandwiches?"

Coworker #5- "Have you ever been to summer camp? I've always wanted to go! It seems so American"

Coworker #6- "American football players look so silly in all that gear"

Coworker #7 "I'm going on holiday to the US with my husband and three kids for the month of April. 30 days total. The kids will miss a couple of weeks of school but I'd much rather them travel and see the world than to be sitting in a classroom" (kids here go to school year round- 10 weeks on, 2 weeks off, with 6 weeks off over December/January summer holiday)

In other news...we bought a car! No more early morning bus rides for John...

I went to a fancy schmancy work event..

It's been raining for 3 weeks straight...

So we try to take advantage of the dry periods...

My work team took a little boat ride around the harbour...

(It was a little windy)

And we put some shorts on Rudy...

That's all. Bye now!

Ohhh Lynder

Last week, John and I had the pleasure of hosting my lovely mother at our apartment in Sydney. She came and went in a flash- but we managed to fit in lots of good food, drinks, shopping, and walks around this pretty (but right now rainy) city. Plus, I introduced her to my Aussie BFFs!

(I hope Rudy doesn't see that pic)

Love you mama, come back soon!!
