Over Easter weekend, John and I headed up the coast to Byron Bay (our first visit
here) for Bluesfest! It's one of the biggest music festivals in Australia and it did not disappoint. We roughed it...Bonnaroo style. It was hot and rainy and muddy and gross but so much fun! I wasn't really keen to go at first just because I wasn't a hardcore fan of anyone performing.. But I'm so glad I decided to go! John of course loved it and there were several up and coming artists there that I really loved! If you're looking for any new music, check out Gary Clark Jr., Kristy Lee, Shaun Kirk, Wagon, Keb Mo... The big performers were Zac Brown Band, Counting Crows, Alabama Shakes, Train, Paolo Nutini...
Our friend Liz made sure we celebrated Easter, American-Style (We don't have Reeses in Australia...these were shipped in by her mom!)
Weird thing- there were lots of kids at Bluesfest. A whole range of ages actually- from tiny little babies with headphones to 70 year olds in lawn chairs.
Great way to spend a long weekend!
Don't worry- Rudy celebrated Easter with some good friends.
In other news... Happy birthday, Nicole! Let's drink some whiskey.
And heyyy- dog friends are the best friends.
